Jamaal Summerlin
Jamaal Summerlin is the founder of CaseFin, a platform that helps plaintiff firms evaluate and package cases for litigation funding. In high school, he interned at the Hamilton County Courthouse in Ohio, where he first learned about litigation funding. He later interned at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and studied business economics at The Ohio State University, where he was also part of the pre-law program.
After graduating, Jamaal joined JPMorgan Chase’s Global Real Estate team, managing contracts for multimillion-dollar real estate projects across the northeastern United States. He then moved to Amazon’s Corporate & Securities legal team, where he supported SEC reporting compliance and was drawn into AI and automation initiatives. That experience, watching teams reformat the same information for different audiences, shaped his view of where legal workflows break down. He founded CaseFin to address one of them.
