David leads the market-leading global contentious insolvency practice at Interpath, formerly KPMG’s UK restructuring division. He has extensive international experience across more than 30 jurisdictions, including the US, Middle East, Caribbean, Europe and Eastern Europe, and is licensed to practise insolvency in eight jurisdictions, including Barbados, St Vincent and the Grenadines, the DIFC and Cyprus.
David is ranked a Global Elite Thought Leader by Who’s Who Legal, an accolade awarded to only 5% of experts worldwide, and was named Global Asset Recovery Expert of the Year in 2023. He has led some of the world’s largest asset recovery and enforcement programmes, including the landmark US$7 billion Ablyazov case spanning 32 jurisdictions and resulting in recoveries exceeding US$2.5 billion.
He is currently leading the UK’s largest-ever confiscation order as Proceeds of Crime Receiver and is regularly instructed by HMRC, the SFO and sovereign wealth funds. David is an Honorary Professor at Durham University Law School, the first non-lawyer to hold the role.
